“Everybody is different. Everybody has different styles. Just do it the best way you know how.” ~Vince Carter.
We all think differently, have different likes and dislikes and do different things. No two people in this world are exactly the same. And just as we all like different foods, we all have different ways of finding inspiration, solutions to problems and new ideas. If you already know what helps you find inspiration, great – keep at it. If you struggle to find inspiration, or your current acts aren’t yielding any fruits, try out a few of the ideas on this list. Some of the items on the list may seem odd to you, but remember that every person is different.
- Read a motivational book, such as: Think and Grow Rich, The Greatest Salesman In The World, or As A Man Thinketh.
- Watch an inspirational movie. Remember The Titans, The Pursuit Of Happyness, and The Guardian are a few that come to mind.
- Talk to a parent or spouse.
- Talk to a child (you might be surprised at how clearly they see things!).
- Take a day off of work and only do things that make you happy and excited.
- Reexamine your goals.
- Exercise. Go to the gym or out on a hike. You might be surprised at how exercise can energize your thinking.
- If you are religious, go to church or pray.
- Take a nap. When you wake up, stay in bed for a few minutes and go over things in your head.
- Jump in the shower.
- Work on something else for a little while.
- Leave it alone. Sometimes things just need some time to work themselves out.
What else would you add to this list? We often think of finding inspiration from others, and the stories of other entrepreneurs can be great guides. Just keep in mind that sometimes inspiration is much simpler and closer to home.
Every person is different and everybody finds inspiration a little differently. However, once you find that inspiration, make sure you ACT on it. What good is inspiration if you don’t do anything with it?
