Earlier this month Entrepreneur published an article by Jayson Demers, the founder and CEO of AudienceBloom. Demers’ article details 10 realizations every entrepreneur eventually has. Another great title for this article could be “Learning how to manage your 10 biggest fears as an entrepreneur.”
As an entrepreneur himself, Demers understands the unique experience of starting a business. Demers’ first “realization” on the list is: “Making a decision is always better than avoiding one.” Isn’t decision making one of the biggest fears a business owner or entrepreneur can have? Demers goes on to assert that “The fear of risk is overblown” and “You can’t control everything.” If making decisions, taking risks and losing control aren’t high up on an entrepreneur’s list of fears, we don’t know what is.
Demers explains how each “fear” can be overcome and conquered. The best thing you can do is to get in there and get some experience. The more times you’ve had to make a decision, the less fear you will have the next time a choice arises. Make one or two mistakes, get yourself out of them and next thing you know, you’re not so afraid of making mistakes anymore.
Whatever your fears are, don’t let them hold you back. You know deep down what fear is stopping you from being successful. Follow Demers’ lead. It will only take a little experience to help you come to the “realization” that all of those fears can be overcome.
